Open Call: Short Term Stays

Short Term Stays is seeking speculative, hybrid, interactive, and multimedia creative work in all mediums. Some examples of things we might like:

  • Narrative as architecture, technology, or organism

  • The internet as a storytelling space

  • Speculative autofiction and myth-making

  • Narratives that self-destruct, decay, or mutate over time

  • Narratives told through interfaces or databases

  • Media from another timeline

  • Media that watches back

  • Simulacra

  • Kinetic poetry

  • Hypertext fiction

  • Puzzles, riddles, mysteries

  • Futurism as a tool, or as something that refuses utility

  • Whatever other wildness you can dream of

Contributors retain First North American rights to their work. Work will be featured online with the potential of a print or exhibition feature. The deadline is rolling.

Open Call: Essays

SATURN WILDS MOTEL is looking for essays that explore the following:

  • The aesthetics and politics of solarpunk, cyberpunk, and other speculative subgenres

  • Non-Western futurisms and speculative traditions (Afrofuturism, Sinofuturism, etc.)

  • Utopian/dystopian design in media, architecture, and other spaces

  • The role of AI and machine learning in storytelling or art-making

  • Speculative ecologies and urbanism

  • Techno-occultism, magic systems

  • Anything in a similar vein

Work will be featured online with the potential of a print feature. The deadline is rolling.
